"Oh, Miss Believer, my pretty sleeper.
Your twisted mind is like snow on the road.
Your shaking shoulders prove that it's colder.
Inside your head than the winter of dead.
I will tell you I love you.
But the muffs on your ears will cater your fears.
My nose and feet are running as we start.
To travel through snow.
Together we go."
Dorcas pursed her lips for a moment, her gaze moving upwards as she tilted her head a little. “Well-combed godblin..” she repeated, before moving her gaze back to the redhead. “I’ll take it. ” She replied with a shrug and a grin. As Lily briefly mentioned her sister, Dorcas found herself smiling sympathetically — she was aware of how.. sensible that topic was, and she didn’t bring it up unless the Gryffindor did. In all truthfulness, they didn’t have to spend hours talking about it, Dorcas felt incredibly flattered that Lily seemed to be comfortable enough with her to mention such brief, small, private details about herself and her sister during their conversations. Nodding as the redhead described her summer, Dorcas scrunched up her nose. “Well.. it could have been worse, right ? —- Oh, I’m sorry we didn’t get a chance to meet up.” She truly was. Between spending time with her family and distant family, going on vacation, catching up with muggle friends.. summer seemed to just fly by. “Merlin that’s..” She paused for a second as she leaned back on the chair. “… so awfully wonderful and responsible of you —- way to make the rest of us mere mortals look bad.” The brunette let out a soft, lighthearted laugh. ”I usually can barely keep up with the classes I have.” Likely because she was prone to procrastination… but oh, details details, she was working on becoming a more responsible student.

An untainted laugh left her lips. ❝ Good. Because that’s the best I’ve got. ❞ Whenever Lily had thought about her sister, a small pang of pain hit her. A relationship strained so terribly that there never seemed to be a way to fix it. It was sensitive but there were times she caught herself talking about her even to complete strangers. But Dorcas wasn’t a stranger and when she spoke about her, she didn’t feel so terrible about it. Feeling more like a release than any guilt concerning her sister. ❝ Yes, it could’ve been way worse. It’s always nice to go home, right? ❞ She nodded, acknowledging that she too wished that they could’ve at least said hello. Perhaps being in separate houses limited their interaction but on mornings like this, it was nice to finally catch up after the long holiday. Although Lily had many muggle friends, they never seemed to compare to her friends at Hogwarts. There was a new disconnect between them and she could never speak about her new boarding school. ❝ Oh, gosh, Dory. I’m really not thinking about taking any. It’s a huge work load for a fifth year! ❞ The prospect of taking harder classes was exciting. And she’d thought about it since her first year. But now, she’d grown. She wanted to experience things with her friends, the wizarding world still had many things to offer. Burying her head in books and watching as it flew by wasn’t such an interesting prospect anymore.
