“James? Excellent, are we on a first-name basis now?”
The idea that Dumbledore had made a mistake did initially cross
his mind, but upon reconsideration, and a discussion with his parents
he’d decided that no, he hadn’t made a mistake. Dumbledore trusted
him. And this was his big chance to prove that the Headmaster had
been right.“Regular wizards make mistakes. Dumbledore’s not an ordinary
guy, though.” He flashed her a grin, and then lifted his trunk off the
trolley, loading it onto the train.“Come on, we’ll be late, the prefects will all be expecting us to say
something to them up front.”
❝ Don’t get too comfortable. ❞
As much as she tested James Potter, she was worried that Dumbledore
hadn’t made a mistake. He was the greatest wizard she had ever known.
If he had decided to give Potter the role of Head Boy, there had to be a
reason. While Lily had worked hard to earn this position, she detested the
idea of it being undermined by a known bully. His cocky attitude had gotten
the best of her and she couldn’t find anything to say.
❝ What did you do to even get this position? I really want to know. ❞
She was momentarily blinded when he grinned. His annoyingly handsome
face made her roll her eyes and cross her arms in an attempt to stop herself
from saying something stupid.
❝ Oh, so you do care about making a good impression. What a surprise.❞
